How can we help?
Write to us about anything, including a question, a problem or a word meaning that looks wrong.
Common questions
Is Masar Quran really free?
Yes. It is made as a continuing charity (sadaqah jariyah). There are no ads and no subscriptions.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the app and start. Several learners can each have a profile on one device.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes, in your phone’s browser, today. The App Store, Google Play and F-Droid versions are on the way.
How do I install it like an app?
On a computer or Android phone, open the app and choose “Install” or “Add to Home screen” in your browser’s menu. On an iPhone or iPad, open it in Safari, tap Share, then “Add to Home Screen”.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once it has loaded. Word meanings you have not opened yet and recitation audio need a connection.
Why did the app open in a small window?
On a computer, Masar opens in its own phone-sized window, so you can keep it beside whatever else you are reading. You can resize or move it. If your browser blocks pop-ups, it opens as a normal page instead.
Where is my progress kept? Can I move it to another device?
Your progress is stored on the device and in the browser where you use it. Settings lets you export it, but there is no sync between devices yet. Clearing your browser’s site data can remove it, so installing the app and exporting from time to time is a good habit.
How do I delete my data?
In the app, open Settings. You can delete one profile, or choose “Delete all data on this device”. This cannot be undone. We hold no copy.
Have the meanings been checked by a scholar?
The Quran text comes from a verified scholarly source and is never altered. Word meanings come from Quran.com and are going through scholarly review, and the app says so until that is complete. If a meaning looks wrong to you, please tell us the surah, ayah and word.
Is there a family version?
The app already supports several learners on one device. Sharing progress with your family Home and on Bayti One, the family wall display, is coming later, and only if you choose to join.
